Full on Fougère today. I continued my education on straight shaving and once again gave my grandpa’s heirloom straight a go. Nice and smooth. I almost completed the shave without a single nick…. guess I got cocky as I finished with one small weeper. Getting better.
The Wholly Kaw Fougère to me is like Brut on steriods. Everything is nice and amped up. I’ve heard people describe WK as mild on scent strength, but this is anything but. I’ll carry this with me for a few hours on the soap and splash for sure. I had a bit of trouble dialing in the lather today as I overloaded a bit. It took a bit of extra work to get it just how I liked. I guess overload is better than under. Lately I’ve been reaching for the boar brushes again and this Semogue is my favourite look… it just seems to be taking forever to break in. I’ve tried a few tricks (soaking for a duration, etc) but several shaves in and it still feels like it has some work to do. No wear near my Omega Boar in that area, but I love the look and handle shape. It will only get better with age.
