Stonefield Shaving recently added product to their arsenal with this Highland Springs collaboration. Stonefield is one of my favourite vendors (from Winnipeg…. although I hear he is a Saskatchewan Roughriders fan….. aren’t we all?). His 3 Six and Charlie is still one of my favourite scents in the den (do yourself a favor and pick one up), so I really wanted to give this a try.
Sippin’ By the Fire is a a scent meant to evoke memories of sitting around a cracklin’ campfire, enjoying a good drink with good company. The scent notes on this are Saffron, Clove, Incense, Sandalwood, Amber Patchouli, Smoke (the fire) and Whiskey, Smoke, Oak, Tonka Bean (the whiskey). Off the puck this is a very whiskey forward scent. Scent strength is on the stronger side. Once lathered, you will start to bring out the subtle smokey/woodiness. It is a nice scent, but to be honest, it just isn’t for me. However, if you are a whiskey drinker, especially if you like it on the rocks, this offering will resonate with you for sure. Scents are always subjective, so the scent will come down to your tastes but what I can say for sure is that the soap base is the bomb! The Highland Springs base is top notch. If you don’t have a Highland Springs product in your den you are really missing out.
