Off for the long weekend, and we are taking a family trip back to my home town to do some tenting. Northern Saskatchewan, surrounded by trees, I can’t wait. I remember how strange it was when I moved to the city and did’t see any trees around the city. It took a while to get used to for sure.
I wanted to have a shave today that a coniferous vibe. That typically isnt a scent profile I go for but these items where in a recent raffle win, so what the heck. The Canadian Blade Co soap was made by Soap Bathman, so I knew performance would be nice. Easy load and lather, decent slickness and cushion. No complaints there. The scent was quite nice. The woody notes of cedar and thyme are present, but they are brightened up by lemongrass, lavender and peppermint. I really nice blend.
For the post shave I used this Tallow + Steel Rainforest splash. Oakmoss, Vetiver, Patchouli, Fir, Frankincense, Cedar, Bergamot,Rhododendron, Orange. A nice bright blend of citrus, spice and forest. A fantastic pairing.
