Got the Kink in a mail call yesterday so I had to give it a go today. This is a new formulation that is very different than the previous line of soaps. The company is undergoing some branding changes so this is the first soap they have that has started the change. The scent on this soap is strong and deadly. Leather, coffee, vetiver, tonka bean and cedar. A very manly scent. I really enjoyed it. The soap itself is very very very soft, almost like a cream. It feels tacky to the touch. I hit the tub with my badger for a few swirls and straight to the new lather bowl. I found the lather didnt give me the fluffy pillowlike lather I’m used to, but it was very slick, so slick I had trouble holding the brush. It did give a nice cushioned shave with my vintage Gillette. I finished off with the Like Grandpa balm. If you are in a dry climate or deal with the harsh prairie winters like myself, I can’t recommend this stuff enough. Super hydrating. A great hump day shave!
