Razor: Yaqi Mellon
Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux
Brush: Yaqi Silvertip Badger
Soap: Chiseled Face Panda
Today felt like a Yaqi kind of day. I grabbed my trusty Mellon (double open comb). I really like this razor. Feedback is great, it is nice an efficient, aggression level is middle of the road. The double open comb makes it a bit intimidating but man does it give a good shave. I paired it with a Rapira Platinum Lux blade, I really like them, but for some reason I hadnt grabbed one for a while. I’ll have to remedy that as I get fantastic shaves with them.
A also grabbed for my Yaqi silvertip. It has been a while since I used it and now that I have a few other brushes to play around with, I realize this thing is a massive lather hog. It just sucks up the lather. No scritch, lots of density, but I think I have been converted to the larger handles as I know find this a bit tougher to wield.
The soap today, going to smell like a boss, Chiseled Face Panda. This stuff smells fantastic, but I can see how it could be polarizing. It isnt subtle, it is in your face cologne scent. Strength to me is a 10/10. No aftershave needed as the scent will carry for a while just off the soap. Scent profile is as follows:
Top Notes: Apple, Magnolia, Mandarin, Lily, Osmanthus, Ozone, Tea
Heart Notes: Amber, Earthy Notes, Jasmine, Orris, Patchouli
Bottom Notes: Civet*, Musk*, Sandalwood, Vanilla
An all around fantastic shave today. Big win.
