When you think sports in Canada, hockey always comes to mind. For many, it is the only sport in Canada. Not me. I follow hockey a little bit (Go Jets) but I have two Canadian sport passions. CFL football in the summer (go RIDERS) and Curling in the winter. Right now happens to be the biggest men’s curling event in the country, the National Championship, the Brier. It is a fantastic piece of Canadiana, chalked full of history. Everyone has their home province team to cheer for. And then there is the Brier patch, the best party in Canada. I typically cheer for the hometown team but this year I have friends competing in three different provinces. I’d love to see Saskatchewan end the drought, but I’d also love to see my friend Steve with team BC hoist the tankard.
When curling is described, I always say it is an athletic game of chess, a true gentleman’s game. I thought it fitting to do a curling shave today and picked my Stirling Gentleman to highlight. I love the scent on this, the strongest Stirling scent I own. Tobacco, Vanilla, Amber, and Musk. It is very warm, very masculine and carries a while after the shave. If you like tobacco scents, add this to your den.
I also gave my brand new Thirsty Badger scuttle a go. Man did this turn out great. It has a great balance of heft/weight, holds enough water to stay warm and not too much that it feels like you are holding a brick. No more cold shaves for me this winter 🙂
