It wouldn’t be a camping vacation without a Lumberjack shave from Soapy Bathman. It is a fantastic coniferous scent with a hint of sweetness that goes well pretty much any time of year. I really don’t hear much from Soapy Bathman these days and I don’t know if he has released any new scents in a while. Too bad because performance is quite good. It lathers easily and slickness is quite good. Following up with the post shave balm leaves you nice and hydrated.
I have been experimenting with the cold water shave this week whilst camping. Cranking out some hot water just for the sake of a shave seemed a bit overkill. Plus I feel like I get my real-man-camping badge by shaving from a mug by a camp fire. It can be quite refreshing, no need for menthol with a cold water morning shave. What I can say is that you really need to be careful on your technique and you really push the software to the limits. Shaves don’t seem quite as smooth and if you aren’t right on with your angles you will notice it. Luckily I’ve been carrying really good software, have a nice smooth blade and am in no rush. No BBS, but still a DFS. A mental note for next trip though will be to bring the smoothest blade and the mildest razor to set myself up for the best success.
Still no complaints. A great camp day shave.
