There’s something genuinely exciting about discovering a new artisan, especially a Canadian maker not too far from our own backyard. Today’s shave gave me that exact thrill with Wild Fox Rituals, a talented artisan whose release has already made waves on shelves at Stonefield Shaving, Top of the Chain, and The Razor Company. I love supporting local craftsmanship, and seeing a small Canadian company produce items this polished is incredibly satisfying.
One product that caught my attention from their lineup is Copper Mountain – Citrus Blast. The soap performs very well on all the important metrics — it’s slick, provides excellent cushion, and is easy to work with. It lathers effortlessly, holds a decent amount of water, and creates a rich, protective layer that makes the shave comfortable and smooth. The scent is bright and crisp, with sparkling notes of yuzu, grapefruit, and satsuma. Strength is medium — enough to energize your morning without overpowering.
Post-shave, the accompanying serum is fantastic. It hydrates deeply, absorbs instantly, and leaves the skin feeling soft and refreshed. Normally I lean toward splashes, but this one is addictive — I’ll likely grab the unscented version to pair with any shave set because it’s that versatile.
Paired with the Karve CB and a Tatra blade, the shave was smooth, efficient and comfortable. No nicks, no irritation — just a flawless finish and a fantastic way to start my day.
Verdict: Copper Mountain – Citrus Blast is a standout from Wild Fox Rituals. Bright and crisp, it’s perfect for anyone who values citrus-forward scents, high-quality artisanship, and a soap that excels on slickness, cushion, and overall shave comfort.
