Razor: Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Double Open Comb
Brush: Semogue 1305 Boar
Soap: First Canadian Shave Soap Company Maximo Gomez Cuba
Aftershave: Chatillon Lux Gratiot League Square
Today I felt like a full on Tobacco shave, and a wonderful shave it was. I grabbed the Maximo Gomez from the den today. I find this formulation (which has since been replaced) is a bit on the thirsty side, so I bloom it with a touch of water while I hit the shower. I went to work with the Semogue boar and I was rewarded with a fantastic lather. Nice and slick, with a nice cushion. The scent on this one to me heavy lime and tobacco, a wonderful blend. My first go with this soap I wasn’t sure on the scent profile, but I sure am now, it is a beauty.
I followed up with Chantillon Lux Gratiot League Square: tobacco, leather, rose, clove, nutmeg, sandalwood, vetiver, vanilla, musk, bergamot, and amber. This is a nice tobacco scent softened by the sweet notes of rose, vanilla and bergamot with a touch of spice thrown in the mix. Another big win. The formulation on the aftershave is fantastic. Only the tiny bit of alcohol burn with a fantastic hydrating post shave feel, very unique for an aftershave splash. If you don’t have any in your den, it is time to add some.
