One of the great things about a #travelshave is that I’m always grabbing and using different samples. Sample soaps always travel well, grab a few and fire in the Dopp kit. Today I pulled out a soap from a local artisan, Prairie Goat Soaps. This soap is tallow based. Also with stearic acid, coconut oil, shea, castor oil and essential oils for scent. It is a fairly hard soap and it smells fantastic (I’m a sucker for a good patchouli scent)
It was able to push a small amount of the soap into the bottom of the bowl. I initially hit it with a bit too much water but luckily I had loaded a large enough amount in the bowl that was able to work it out (creating a HUGE amount of lather in the process). Cushion, slickness and post shave were sufficient. Combined with the CB I got a nice comfortable shave. I opted for a quick 2 pass shave today. Smooth and efficient. It was a pleasant surprise to find a solid offering from an artisan out my own backside.
Another cool day at the cabin will likely turn into more board games and puzzle building with family. Just a few things I’m thankful for.
