Razor: Blue Steel Special 5/8
Brush: Paragon Synthetic
Soap: Long Rifle Soap Company Leatherstocking
Other: Thirsty Badger lather bowl
A quick one today as I will be coaching my son in a soccer tournament this weekend. 6 year old with lots of activities and sugar to match. Jealous?
I grabbed this sample of Leatherstocking. I picked up the Voyager scent from Long Rifle recently and it has turned into one of my favourites. Another Long Rifle fan in the CWS group offered up a couple other scents to try. The soap works very well for me. Tallow based, easy to lather, nice cushion and slick enough. Nice and smooth with the straight. The scent, pine, cedarwood, orange and patchouli isnt exactly my cup of team. The coniferous notes are there, as is the citrus. Not overpowering, but more than enough scent strength.
The shave went quite well. No knicks today at all on a full 2 pass shave with the Blue Steel Special. It has nice weight and the angle is quite easy to figure out. I dig this razor a lot. Also in play was a prototype Thirsty Badger lather bowl, this one with a lefty handle and made with speckled clay. Quite nice.
All for now, J
