Up early this morning. We had our 6 year old crawl into bed and crowd me out, haha. Might as well fire off a morning SOTD. Today I grabbed Squadron Soaps The Warden. “A masculine smelling blend of citrusy bergamot, with a bold strong base of vetiver, cinnamon bark, cedarwood and tobacco leaf.” It is a nice, slightly dark, masculine scent. I don’t get much brightness from the bergamot at all. I get a slightly woodsy, tobacco/vetiver vibe. Scent strength was 6-7/10.
This is my second go with a Squadron soap base. It is quite nice. Packaging is attractive, I really like the theme they carry. The base itself is quite good. It loads and lathers easily. I didnt get the super glossy lather, but it was nice and slick, average cushion. The residual slickness was really good, I had no problem buffing with the Yaqi razor. Post shave was nice as well.
It was a fantastic shave today. I recently got a sampling of these Super-Max blades and they paired with the Yaqi very nicely. I didn’t chance BBS today, but a quick 3 passes and I was damn close. I great shave to start the day off….. early.
