I’m your huckleberry, that’s just my game“.  A Friday off so I figured it was a great day to do a theme shave.  Tombstone, one of my favourite movies of all time.  If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend giving it a watch.  Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday was a scene steeling gem in this daisy of a movie.

Which brings me to the software for today.  The soap is Dapper Doc, inspired by the legendary gent himself.  On top of being a wicked gun fighter, he was known to be sharp in wit and style.  This scent is inspired by what the Doc himself might have worn back in the day, Lilac and Fig.  The scent on this soap is simple and bang on.  Opening the tub gives you lilac right in the face, no hiding it, all in it’s floral glory.  Once lathered the fruitiness of the fig comes out and softens the scent into a wonderful vintage gentlemanly vibe.  This is in the OG CK base, but for me that is just fine.  It lathers very easily into a slick and protective lather.  The more I use this base the more I like it.  I’m typically not a floral guy so this one likely won’t stay in the den too long but if you want something floral and vintage, this would be a great fit.

I paired it up today with another PAA offering, Tombstone.  The Dapper Doc is the gentleman scent but this is the gun fighter in all his glory.  Gunpowder, Leather, Tobacco, Geranium, Bergamot, and Rose.  It is a favourite of mine in the den and just right for that era.   This alcohol/alum based splash will give you a bit of sting but has a hint on menthol to cool you down and leave you feeling refreshed.
