Today I’m continuing my voyage into the PannaCrema Nuàvia line with Nera. I’ve now picked up 3 of the 4 in the lineup in the original ceramic containers and I may have a line on the 4th (Rossa). The note break downs are fairly complex for the Nuàvia lineup and while this one has a lot of notes, it does come across as a very cologne like scent that I would say is fresh and aquatic with a base of sweet amber and musk. Full notes are:
Top notes: Sea note, Mandarin, Bergamot, Black pepper, Lavender ,Cardamom
Middle notes: Cinnamon, Artemisia, Sandalwood, Jasmine, Patchouli
Bottom notes: Tonka bean, Vanilla, Amber, White musk
The scent is nice and while not a standout, I doubt it would be a dislike for anyone. Fairly typical of the aquatic style scents. I’d say scent strength on this is just a touch over medium. This vegan base is super easy to lather and performs very well. It isn’t my favourite vegan base but it is darn close. I lathered it up with this beauty Moon Soaps / Kent Designs brush and had an awesome 3 pass shave. No issues skipping a post shave product today either. I have to give some credit to this DS Cosmetic DS-T7 razor that looks great and is plenty smooth. This would be a great beginner shaver with just enough efficiency but still mild and smooth enough for novice shavers.
Being that I didn’t have a matching aftershave and the scent of the soap pretty much washed away, I was pretty free to grab any fragrance to finish up. I grabbed CK One Shock, a amber/tobacco forward scent that I happened to win on a recent bbs.live show. I think it is a good pairing with the soap, even if some of the soap scent had lingered. Longevity isn’t great on this fragrance but it does smell pretty awesome.
No complaints with the shave today. All for now – J
