Well, it has been officially a year since Thirsty Badger launched and I figured it was time to do a little celebration. What better way to celebrate than with 1. a theme week 2. a giveaway. The theme of the week is #CanadianShaveWeek. This week I will be celebrating many of my favourite Canadian artisans that create great shaving related products for us wet shavers to enjoy. AND, at the end of the week I am going to be having a great giveaway for one lucky follower. I’m not sure where I will run the contest yet or what the parameters will be so make sure to follow along this week as I release more info on that. I can say it will be Canadian related and you may find some useful information in the blog posts.
To kick off #CanadianShaveWeek I’m going back to one of the first setups that really got me hooked, Henri et Victoria Cognac & Cuban Cigars. The scent on this guy is fantastic. This takes my back poker nights with the buddies, enjoying a fine cigar and an expensive cognac while losing my stack of chips. Luckily we didn’t play for much other than the night out with friends.
The soap is a softer soap. It loads and lather easily. The fantastic Canadian made Paragon Synthetic saw to that. If you are looking for a nice piece of craftsmanship with an excellent knot look no further than them. Cushion and slickness were decent and post shave was really nice as well. A quick 3 passes and today, BBS. The Rockwell 6c, another Canadian jewel is a fantastic razor for any budget, offering several options for blade gap to dial in your preference. This is an excellent razor for the beginner to the experiences wet shaver and I highly recommend you having one in your den.
I finished up with the matching splash and balm for a fantastic post shave feel. And just because…. I straightened up the hairdo with the matching pomade. I love the performance on the Pomade, scent matched but is a bit more subtle. I’m just about done my second tub of it.
Hope everyone is having a great long weekend and I will you all here again tomorrow!
