Today is the last day of #CanadianShaveWeek and let me say, it was tough to narrow it down to 7 shaves. There are artisans I never got to, products I would have loved to highlighted and I’m certain products I’ve yet to hear about. What do you think? Have I misses any of your favourites?
With my beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders taking the win yesterday vs the Winnipeg Blue Bombers I figured I should at least wrap up my shave week with a Winnipeg offering. Today I used Three Six & Charlie from Stonefield Shaving Company. If you have never heard of them you should check them out. They offer a variety of shaving and beard related products from a variety of artisans, many of which are Canadian. They also have a few of there own products, Three Six & Charlie being one of them.
The soap itself is a very hard soap. As such, it will take a little patience learning to load and lather. It has taken me a few times to get it dialed in by blooming it a bit and being watchful of the water content. Once lathered up, you will get a nice shave. Slickness, Cushion and Post-shave are all about average, but where this product really shines is in the scent. I LOVE this scent. Bergamot, Irish Tweed, Coffee, and Pipe Tobacco. For me, they blend into an almost cocoa like pipe smoke with the Irish Tweed brightening things up. A huge win on the scent. The more I use it the more it grows on me.
The splash is a perfect match to the soap. The scent strength is really nice, it will carry for a while without being over powering. The splash itself is water based, no alcohol burn. Just a nice subtle skin food that will give you a nice finish to a great shave.
The Spiffo Two Band is a beauty. If you love the look of this brush, you are in luck. I acquired a second Spiffo brush that I will be giving away to close out the #CanadianShaveWeek tonight. I’m just working on a couple other details to go with it and I will post the giveaway later tonight. If you havent done so, make sure to follow us on our social accounts and if you didnt follow all the #CanadianShaveWeek posts (tsk, tsk) go back and give them a read now. It may increase your chance 🙂
Lastly, I used one of our Thirsty Badger lather bowls today. This beauty is a personal favourite of mine. I love the look of it. The side handle makes it easy to hold and the texture whips up a great lather. I will be sad to see it go but it will make for a great piece in your shave den.
Thanks for following along this week, and check back later today for full details on our giveaway. Also make sure to follow our social feeds as we will, from time to time, offer a few things uniquely on each platform. We have some fun things coming down the pipe, including a bunch of new lather bowls that will be hitting our store in the next couple weeks.
